Pan and zoom controller

PURPOSE

Close and exit the current and return to the main menu, account management or login page.The Pan and Zoom controller is used to move, rotate and zoom the map. It also provides access to the 2D and 3D view modes and shows the current map coordinates. The controller fades out when not in use. Just hover over it to bring it up to full brightness.

HOW TO

While in 2D mode there is only a single control circle to pan the map in the XY plane

2D view mode:

When you first open a map it will be in 2D view mode, with a single control circle. Click the arrows to move the map in the XY directions. Click and drag the white ball to zoom in and out. The numbers to the right of the control circle change constantly as the mouse moves across the map.

  1. X: is the x coordinate of the mouse
  2. Y: is the y coordinate of the mouse
  3. H: is the true height of the Mars Yard landscape.

 

When in 3D mode there are  2 control circles to move the map in 3 planes

3D view mode:

You can switch the map to 3D view mode by clicking on the 3D button. A second circle will appear allowing you to rotate the map in the 3D plane.

 

NOTE: the Pan and Zoom controller is unavailable while:

  • a Pin Info box is open
  • Add pin, delete pin, move pin or draw path are selected.
